6 Creative Things To Do This Weekend At Home
Whether you’re trying to save money or stay safe amid the pandemic, having a fun weekend at home is very possible!
Staying home on the weekend is becoming our normal now, but this doesn’t mean we have to spend the weekend moping around!
You can have some real fun, relaxing time without leaving the house! You just need a few tips to help make it a special weekend indoors. It might become your new favorite way to spend your weekend!
Having a Fun Weekend At Home
If you’re looking for something a little different from the classic Netflix-binges, these are a coupe of my favorite things to do on a lazy Sunday..
Do An Online Cooking Class
Online cooking classes are so much fun and are incredibly budget-friendly. If you don’t want to do the cooking classes alone, you can invite a friend over to join in.
Not only will the cooking class keep you entertained, but it will teach you some handy new skills in the kitchen as well.
Make a quick stop by the grocery store on Friday to pick up everything you might need for the cooking class. Find out the ingredients you need and plan to have it ready for the weekend.
You can find a recipe video on just about every dish imaginable on Youtube or head on over to Skillshare and learn how to cook from scratch (amongst many other interesting hobbies!)
Start An Indoor Garden
There is something so calming and therapeutic about gardening. You don’t need a green thumb to start a small indoor garden, you just need some patience and time.
You can purchase an indoor herb garden kit online, and spend the weekend starting it all out. Play some music, open all the windows, and just enjoy the time doing something so simple, yet so rewarding.
Practice Your Cocktail Making Skills
Many bars and restaurants are now making their own at-home cocktail kits. (As you can tell, I love kits! They’re just such an easy way to get your feet wet with a new hobby!)
You can purchase a large kit to make a few different cocktails, or a simple kit to make your favorite.
This gets you learning about how to properly make some good cocktails, and it allows you to enjoy them at home as well!
It’s also a great skill to learn for parties! Just whip out your martini shaker and surprise all your guests at the next soiree.
Pamper Yourself
Take a day to care for yourself and your skin. While you won’t have someone doing it for you, it can be really rewarding to do it yourself. A pamper day make you feel like you’re having a vacation at home.
You should make a habit of setting one day aside a month to give yourself an at-home spa treatment. Scrub your body with a delicious sugar scrub, use a hydrating mask, and just do all the things you usually wouldn’t.
There are some great at-home spa kits you can purchase that make the process much easier as well!
I personally love these Korean face masks! I put my face masks in the fridge for extra hydration and cooling effect.
Do A Puzzle
Puzzles just always seem to be the best way to pass time. Most of us do experience a love-hate relationship with puzzles.
While it can be so frustrating doing them, we can’t stop and the end product just makes it so worth it all!
There are incredibly gorgeous puzzles out there to purchase, but you could also start a puzzle-swap with friends to save money.
Take A Virtual Museum Tour
While this might sound boring, you would be surprised how interesting and entertaining it could be to take a virtual museum tour.
Most of the biggest museums have now taken their tours online. You can visit art museums, natural science museums, or history museums. It is a great way to see the world without having to leave your home!
