Iced Protein Coffee Shake (My Go-To When I Want Coffee and Something Filling)
I didn’t mean to start making this… it kinda happened out of desperation. One morning I was running late, it was already hot outside, and I had coffee in one hand and a protein shake in the other thinking… why am I doing both?
So I dumped them together, hoped for the best, and honestly… it slapped. Now I make it way more than I probably should. Even my friend tried it after a beach walk and was like “wait… why is this actually good?”

Why I Keep Making This
I’m not one of those girls who lives off protein shakes. I like real food, I like going out, I like balance. But this? This just makes mornings easier.
It wakes me up and fills me up at the same time. And in South Florida heat, I’m not trying to drink hot coffee at 8am. I want something cold, fast, and not annoying to make.
Also it feels kinda like a treat, which makes it easier to stay consistent without forcing it.
What You Need
- 1 cup cold coffee (leftover is perfect)
- 1 scoop protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)
- ½ frozen banana
- ½ to 1 cup milk (I usually use almond milk)
- Ice (a handful)
That’s it. Nothing fancy.
How To Make It
- Add everything into a blender
- Blend for about 20 to 30 seconds
- Pour it into a cup and drink it right away
If it looks a little weird at first, just blend it longer. It fixes itself lol.
What It Actually Tastes Like
It’s kinda like an iced latte but thicker. The banana makes it creamy without making it taste like straight banana. If you use vanilla protein it leans more coffee shop vibes. Chocolate makes it taste like a mocha situation.
Not gonna lie, some protein powders can ruin this. If yours tastes chalky… that’s on the protein, not the recipe.
Easy Swaps I Do All The Time
If I don’t have banana, I just skip it. Still good.
If I want it stronger, I add more coffee and less milk.
If I want it sweeter, I’ll throw in a little honey or even a date if I have one laying around.
Sometimes I freeze my coffee into cubes so it doesn’t get watered down. That one is actually worth doing.

When I Usually Drink This
After a workout when I don’t feel like cooking eggs (or anything)
On mornings I’m running late
Before heading to the beach so I’m not starving an hour later
It’s not every day, but it’s one of those things I come back to because it’s easy and it just works.

All In All…
I’m not saying this is life changing, but it kinda fixes that annoying “coffee or breakfast” decision. You just get both and move on with your day.
And if you try it and it comes out bad the first time, just tweak it a little. Less milk, more ice, different protein. It’s one of those recipes you don’t really mess up, you just adjust.
