If you’re anything like me, food (and desserts!) are a huge perk of traveling.
Whenever I plan a trip, I always make sure to include a couple of amazing food spots I want to check out. And I’m not ashamed to admit it, but my meals to dessert ratio on trips is about 1:4. I love sweets!
And New York City has (possibly) the most options in the world when it comes to food.
Whatever it is your craving, you can find it here!
Best Dessert Spots In New York City
Whether you are a New Yorker or just spending the weekend, you have to add these food spots to your itinerary!
Let’s dive into the most delicious list ever…
1. Levain Bakery
Levain Bakery started off just wanting to create the world best chocolate chip cookie. And they may have done it.
These cookies are the perfect chewy to crunchy ratio, and they come in a variety of flavors.
Bonus Points: They’re perfectly instagrammable!
Location: 167 West 74th St (and multiple others)
2. Cookie Do
It’s cookie dough in a cone!! Do I have to say anything more?
As someone who has spent my entire childhood living on the wild side and consuming raw cookie-dough, I am glad this shop exists.
You no longer have to risk salmonella to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Location: 550 LaGuardia Pl
3. Magnolia Bakery
Serving New Yorkers since 1996, Magnolia Bakery is very popular with tourists and locals alike.
They serve many treats from cupcakes to pies and everything in between.
Location: 401 Bleecker Street and W. 11th Street (and multiple others)
4. Dominique Ansel
Cronuts!! If you’ve ever wondered who came up with this delicious concoction, wonder no more, it was: Dominique Ansel.
It was originally introduced in 2013 and has blown up ever since.
But if you want to try the OG Cronut, you have to come to SoHo!
Location: 189 Spring St
5. Ice and Vice
Ice and Vice is one of those places where the ice cream looks SO GOOD you want to snap a pic but tastes remarkably amazing, you can’t be bothered.
They also have such a variety of flavors, you won’t believe.
Have you ever heard of ‘cheese’ as an icecream flavor? Or how about ‘milk money?” You’ve got to add this place to your food bucket list asap.
Location: 221 E Broadway
6. Black Tap Craft Burgers and Beers
Alright, this list is all about desserts, and Black Tap has amazing milkshakes but…..
Their burgers are also to die for! Honestly, anything and everything on their menu is gold.
I can guarantee you will leave in a food coma.
Location: 529 Broome Street (and multiple locations)
7. Supermoon Bakehouse
Supermoon Bakehouse is a very trendy bakery that seems to be made with Instagram in mind. Everything is picture-perfect, from the decor to the baked goods.
I recommend the Hot Apple Pie Twice-Baked Croissant, which is just as good as it sounds. (Yes, it’s an apple pie in a croissant!! What’s not to love)
Location: 120 Rivington St
Taiyaki is a Japanese ice cream shop that servers rather unique flavors in a fish-shaped cone.
They have standard flavors such as vanilla and chocolate, but their most popular, Matcha, is well worth trying.
Taiyaki NYC is one of the best dessert spots in New York if you want to try something different.
Location: 119 Baxter St (and multiple locations)
